Gum Arabic is a natural perennial plant tree that is composed of hardened sap of various species of the acacia tree such as polysaccharides and glycoproteins which are the main source of arabinose & ribose sugars. It’s mostly grown in large quantities in the northern parts of Nigeria in states like; Adamawa, Sokoto, Yobe, Borno, Taraba, Gombe, Katsina, Nassarawa and Zamfara among others.
Uses of Gum Arabic: Gum Arabic is used in food industries as stabilizers. It’s also used in pharmaceutical industries, glue and confectionaries.
