Groundnuts/Peanuts

Groundnuts belongs to the legume crop family that produces yellow, orange & cream flowers which also produce pegs that sinks into the ground to grow the pod. The pods can reach up to 10cm (4in) in length and can contain between 1-5 seeds. It’s also called peanuts, monkey-nuts or earth-nuts. It’s grown mostly in northern parts of Nigeria in areas like; Kano, Sokoto, Kwara, Katsina, Bauchi, and Zamfara states.

Uses of Groundnuts: It’s used for cooking oil, snacks as food, animal feeds, and industrial use.
